Six portfolios, $10,000 each, all built on AltIndex.
We put $60,000 to work across six strategies. Every stock in every portfolio was chosen using AltIndex, so this is really a test of how you use AltIndex: as a pure-signal basket, or layered behind a theme like congressional filings, defense, retail sentiment, or robotics. Here's where they stand.
Portfolio breakdown
Each portfolio was funded with $10,000 at launch. Positions are held static: no rebalancing, no rotation, no stop-losses. Prices update three times per trading day from adjusted closes.
Portfolio vs. benchmark
Blended return is the equal-weighted average across all six strategies (each funded at $10,000). Annualized figures use CAGR: (Ending / 10,000)^(365/215) − 1, over the 215 days since launch.
What the numbers say
Let's be honest. The top two portfolios here are doing things that aren't normal. Congress Copy at +25.96% and AltIndex Top 5 at +23.41% are both annualizing in the 40s, which is not a rate anyone should get used to. Behind those two the field thins out quickly, and one position (Robotics) is doing its best impression of a venture fund. Blended, the whole book is beating the S&P, but narrowly, and mostly because Congress Copy and Top 5 are carrying it.
A few things stand out. The best portfolio is a themed play (Congress Copy), but it's following AltIndex signal underneath. Right behind it is pure-signal Top 5. Both of the pure-signal portfolios (Top 5 and Top 50) are in the green. The blended book is beating the S&P, but narrowly, with Congress Copy and Top 5 doing almost all of the heavy lifting and Robotics eating into the gain. The takeaway is still the same: AltIndex chooses quality when you just let it choose.
Every portfolio on this page was built with AltIndex.
Congress Copy (AltIndex picks filtered through congressional trades) leads the book at +25.96%, with pure-signal AltIndex Top 5 right behind at +23.41%. Both pure-signal baskets (Top 5 and Top 50) are in the green. Across the full newsletter, picks flagged by AltIndex hit — of the time vs — without. Same writers, same market, different inputs.
